Bimini Moose Feature and Creative Blog Hop!

Good Monday morning! I'm so excited to bring you a pocket page layout for the Bimini Moose Pocket Scrapbooking blog, as well as participating in a Creative Blog Hop! If you hopped over from Laura's Blog - Crafty Chick's Creating - thanks so much!

For my project today I wanted to share how I incorporate pocket pages into my traditional scrapbooking albums.  I found these adorable fairy pictures of my daughter in my 'waiting to scrap' pics and wanted to do a feature page, but also wanted to add the others to a pocket page. The background paper for my layout is from My Mind's Eye and I added some stamping and layered some papers. The flowers were originally purple, but a little Dylusions spray ink changed their colours to coordinate with my page!

To coordinate my pocket page I layered on some butterfly stamps and stickers, a flower and a balloon stamp, keeping the colours of the background papers and journalling card similar to my layout.

Here's a closeup of some of the elements on my pages.

I will actually put these pages into my album like this.

Now, for the Creative Blog Hop Questions & Answers:

1.  What are you working on now?
More like what am I not working on! Lol! This week I'm getting a few more Valentine cards made. I need to make Thank You cards for my daughter's wedding. I'm working on Weeks 4 and 5 for Project Life (be sure to check back later this week to finally see the pictures from Week 2!). And, I will be thinking about the next projects for the Design Teams I'm on.

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre?
I try to just do what I like - that usually incorporates some element of mixed media and vintage style. I try to use my supplies in more than one way and take ideas from lots of different inspiring styles.

3.  Why do you create what you do?
I create what I do for my kids and, let's face it, I need to create to be a better person! I just do what I feel speaks to me and learn as I go.

4.  How does your creative process work?
If I'm making a scrapbook layout I start with the pictures and then choose paper I feel goes with the pictures. Sometimes I will start with a sketch first. After that I add my stamps/stickers/ephemera until I feel like I'm happy with it. If it's a card and I'm going to have a stamped image on it I will colour in my image first, then choose paper and any additions.

Thanks so much for joining me today! I hope I've given you some inspiration to either add a traditional layout to your pocket page album or visa versa! Don't forget to check out our Anything Goes Pocket Page Challenge over at Bimini Moose! Enter your page, journalling card, or anything else pocket page related for your chance to win an awesome SVG file from Kadoodle Bug Designs!

And please remember to hop over to Heather's Blog - Princess' Paper Projects - next Monday, February 16th for the next stop on the Creative Blog Hop!
